Edinburgh Travel Diary – Day 2

Hi lovelies

As promised here is my second Travel Diary on my recent trip to Edinburgh 🙂 We got around to seeing a lot more on our second day, but still didn’t make it to everything that Edinburgh has to offer, which of course means I’ll still have loads to go and see on my next trip 🙂 If you haven’t read Day 1 of my Edinburgh Travel Diary please head over and check that out 🙂

After grabbing a quick breakfast in one of the small cafe’s beside our hostel, we headed off in search of the famous Elephant House Cafe, which if you don’t know is where JK Rowling wrote the first Harry Potter Novel and as the sign in the window suggest is the birthplace of Harry Potter 🙂 Looking out at the view of Edinburgh Castle you really see where she got some inspiration from.

Our next stop was to see Greyfriars Kirk, which is the churchyard that not only holds the grave of one Thomas Riddle from Harry Potter but is also the churchyard where Greyfriars Bobby waited by his owners grave for 14 years in hopes of his return. Not as scary as some churchyards I’ve been in, but still eerie enough.

From here we walked up to the Castle and I don’t think I’ve ever been so excited about visiting a castle before 😀 It is such an amazing place that to be far not even the pictures do justice. Well worth the 17£ to get in!

That night we headed out to the Citys Annual Fire Festival and even though it was pouring rain, that didn’t stop thousands of people showing up to enjoy the show! Of course, we dressed up a little to celebrate Halloween 😉

And that was it! As you can see we packed a lot into our 2 days and we did leave a lot of things out, but I’ve already booked and planned by next trip over and will prob revisit a few of these as well as explore the others 😀

If you have any places that you feel are worth visiting in Edinburgh please leave me a comment as I’ll be going for a much longer period next time 🙂

All The Best!

CJ 🙂
