My Travel Packing Check List

Throughout my life I’ve done more than my fair share of travelling, some trips have been fun and others…not so much. Over the years I’ve learned that preparation is key! I will admit I was one of them girls who had the biggest suitcase filled with a whole pile of stuff I  didn’t need! A few years back I went through a phase of lists and of course I made one for my holiday packing, and it turned my life around! Since then every year I make up a checklist and about a month before I plan to go away I will take out my suitcase and proceed to do a little packing each week making sure to following the list. When I travel it is mostly for 1 week so this list is done according to that 😀

Clothing:

  • 4 t-shirts
  • 3 string tops
  • 3 dresses (2 for day & 1 for night)
  • 3 pairs of leggings
  • 2 pairs of jeans or shorts
  • 10 pairs of undies(3 for emergencies)
  • 2 bras
  • 4-7 pairs of socks(depending on activity level)
  • 1 pair of tights(stockings)
  • 3 pairs of shoes(walking shoes, sandals & kitten heels for nights out)
  • 2 swimsuits (only one if not a sun holiday)
  • 1 zippy style hoodie(Jacket if in colder/wetter climate)

Toiletries(travel size where possible):

  • cleanser, toner, moisturiser
  • 1 facemask packet
  • Toothbrush
  • Travel makeup bag

Haircare:

  • Hair brush
  • Bobby pins and hair elastics

Accessories:

  • Passport
  • Phone & Camera charger
  • 1 handbag & 1 wallet
  • 3 pieces of Jewellery
  • Sunglasses

And that is pretty much it. I know it sounds and looks like very little, but the truth is, most stuff like toothpaste, shampoo, sunscreen etc. can actually be found for a lot cheaper at the end destination, plus it saves a little weight for bringing back gifts 😉

Top Tip #1: To save even more space choose your travelling outfit from the above list, I normally travel with my running shoes, leggings, t-shirt and a zippy or rain mack around my waist 🙂

Top Tip #2: Going out on the first morning to find all the things you need is a fantastic way to explore the area, plus you get ahead of the crowds 😀 You wouldn’t believe the great places I’ve found by exploring this way.

All The Best!
