As summer is well and truly here most people I know have either gone on holidays or have them planned! Traveling can mean many different things to many people. To some it’s a getaway, a break to escape reality and to others it’s a go all out, live life to the fullest kind of experience. So what does it mean to you? And when is the right time to travel/go on holiday?
I’ve traveled for many a reason( to relax and to sigh see) but what I’ve found makes the experience all that more enjoyable is when I’m going at the right time and for the right reasons. Nothing like heading away on a trip, either alone or with friends to release this isn’t what you wanted! So to stop that from happening, when the opportunity for you to travel comes up,ask yourself these simple questions and you’ll know if its the right time or not 🙂
- Why do I want to go on this trip?
- Do I want to go alone or as a group?
- Can I actually afford this trip?
By simply asking yourself these three question you will establish what you actually want from the trip, a relaxing beach holiday or a active sight seeing holiday. For group traveling this is very important as it can be hard to please everyone, but even harder if you don’t know what kind of holiday you want in the first place!
Research on any trip is key! No point booking it then finding out the hotel is to far away or that you’d have preferred to go alone or with a group. Read up on the detestation of choice and find out what areas are best and which to avoid. If your trip is with a group, make sure all the booking isn’t left to one person, I recently took a trip where each person took charge of booking something either flights, hotel or activities, that way the pressure wasn’t left on one person 🙂 And if you really cant afford a trip then there is no shame in that! Wait until you can, nothing is worse then being away and not being able to enjoy anything for fear of running out of money.
I know that this may all sound pretty obvious to some, but you’d be surprised how many people say to me ‘I need a holiday to get over my holiday’! No matter what your reason for taking a trip is, make sure that it’s right for you as everyone is different and their idea of a holiday might be hell to you!
