Tips For Glowing Skin

Summer is pretty much here now and if like me your skin is feeling the effects of a long harsh winter then these tips will have your skin looking and feeling healthy with a visible Glow 😉

Get Enough Vitamin D – 5 minutes of sunlight daily is all that is needed for your body to get the Vitamin D it needs 🙂 but if like me you don’t live in a sunniest of climates you can get it from oily fish like salmon or by taking a daily supplement. Whatever way you choose to get it, it is vital for skin rejuvenation and renewal.

Moisturise Daily – Keeping your skin well hydrated is a key factor in obtaining glowing skin. Skin lacking in moisture will look dull and unhealthy. No matter your skin type find a moisturiser that works for you and use it morning and night 🙂 that goes for your body as well! Find a good body lotion and use it daily.

Use SPF – Along with your daily moisturiser you should find an SPF that works with your skin type. Many moisturisers these days have an SPF in them, but it’s no harm to use one on top. UV damage can dull your skin and if exposed to too much can cause cancer of the skin tissue. So use it daily depending on the temperature of your country.

Exfoliate – Light exfoliation on a weekly basis can do wonders for your skin 🙂 It takes that layer of dead skin cells away which if not dealt with can cause blocked pores and attract bacteria which can cause acne to get worse. Take a look at my homemade Rosewater  scrub that can be used on your face and body as it is light and soothing 🙂 Or if you have a Clarisonic this can be used daily instead and is a great way to exfoliate your skin as the bristles are really soft and gentle 😀

Drink Lots of Water – our body is made up of 70% water and needs a lot to keep going. If your body is dehydrated then it will pull water from lesser organs to help your vital organs. The skin is the largest organ in the body but is not considered a vital organ, thus when dehydrated, water will get pulled from it first and leaves it looking limp and unhealthy. Try and drink at least 2 litres of water a day which is roughly 8 glasses.
